What will I learn in the program?
Story sharing is an important part of how people connect, build understanding, and create change. Sharing personal experiences can help others better understand challenges, barriers, and the importance of inclusion in real and meaningful ways. Stories can also be powerful tools for advocacy by helping people speak up about issues that matter to them.
StoryShare is a peer-led educational series for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families. In this course, participants learn how to shape their lived experiences into clear, meaningful advocacy stories. Through guided reflection, accessible activities, and group learning, participants build confidence in sharing their stories in ways that promote awareness, understanding, and positive change.
