ALP-NC Now Accepting Applications for its next 2025 Leadership Cohort!
The Ability Leadership Program - North Carolina (ALP-NC) is an online educational and professional development program. It prepares leaders to engage in collective advocacy. And, it is currently accepting applications for it 2025 Cohort 2. Deadline to apply is July 3, 2025.
Who can apply for the ALP-NC Leadership Cohort?
- Adults with an intellectual and/or developmental disability (I/DD)
- People who identify with the lived experience of disability
- Family members or caregivers of persons with lived experience
- In-field professionals supporting people with I/DD

How are meetings held and what will I learn?
This is an online cohort which means you will attend live webinar group Sessions and Learning Team Meetings online via the Zoom platform. The cohort meets weekly on Fridays beginning August 22, 2025 through October 17, 2025. Click here for a detailed schedule.
The program will held you learn how to:
- Different types of advocacy (self, collective, peer and systems);
- How important advocacy and leadership are in the disability justice movement;
- Practice the different steps and skills that can be used when you advocate; and
- How to map and share your stories effectively so advocates can engage in personal and collective advocacy.
