"UnLocking Your Inclusivity"

Description

Disability:IN North Carolina proudly presents our virtual 2021 Fall Conference, "Unlocking Your Inclusivity" featuring business leaders who will share key strategies including the impacts of "Role Models and Mentors" in the workforce and community. Trane Technologies is the host sponsor for this virtual event on October 12, 2021 which is designed to appeal to the following participants:

  • Executive Leaders
  • Talent Acquisition Professionals
  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Managers
  • Supplier Diversity Professionals
  • Human Resource Professionals
  • Disability Owned Business Enterprises (DOBE)
  • Service Disabled & Veteran Disability Owned Businesses

(SDVOBE)

Mentoring is one of many effective strategies for expanding disability inclusion and employment that will be featured. During this event DI-NC will share more details about our signature program, CommunAbility:DI-NC Mentoring and our partnership with the Career Center and Disability Services at UNC Charlotte. Robert Rusch, Tax Director, PWC and DI-NC Board Vice- Chair will lead a discussion with business leaders who will speak on their personal and professional experience and the impacts of mentors in their lives.

"I mentor a lot of new quadriplegics and quadriplegics who are having insurance challenges. It is one of my greatest “highs” in life you can say because when someone is willing to become their own self advocate, but just needs some help, it brings me incredible joy to watch them grow as human beings as

they follow my guidance."

Ali Ingersoll, Disability Advocate & Participant in

"The Role Models and Mentors"

Round Table, DI-NC 2021 Fall Conference.

The benefits of mentoring are not confined to the mentees. Businesses and the mentors themselves also derive considerable benefit from participating in mentoring programs. A 2013 study, “Career Benefits Associated with Mentoring for Mentors,” published in the Journal of Vocational Behavior, mentors versus non-mentors were more satisfied with their jobs and had a stronger sense of commitment to the organization as a whole when they were engaged in a mentoring program. (Rahashi Chocsh, 2013). Join us on October12th and learn more about mentoring and other strategies to expand disability employment and equality as we focus on "Unlocking Your Inclusivity".

The registration for this virtual event is $25.00 per person.

DI-NC Sponsors and Members will receive a complimentary registration.
