The 6th Annual WNC Regional Transition into Adulthood Fair, A Journey toward Independence: Positive Outcomes for Youth with Disabilities, will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 11:00am to 5:00pm at Mission Health/A-B Tech Conference Center, 340 Victoria Rd. Asheville, NC 28801. This year there will be four educational sessions provided for attendees. Throughout the day participates will have the chance to meet with exhibitors/agencies that provide services related to housing options, employment, post-secondary education and community engagement programs.
The biggest feature of the Fair will be the Community Exhibitors’ with information booths from 25 area service agencies and we invite you to be one of them. This allows participants to meet face to face with potential service agencies. A six foot exhibit table with chairs will be provided. Mission Health/A-B Tech Conference Center doors will open for setup at 9:00am and the fair will begin at 10:30am. The community exhibits will run throughout the event. We ask that your exhibits remain up and manned until the beginning of the last educational session at 4:00pm. Please see the attached flyer for further information and to register.
The nature of this event appeals to parents of children with special needs, as well as, developmental disability specialists, special educators, service/care coordinators, mental health professionals, allied health professionals, teachers, school nurses/counselor and other interested health and human services professionals. It offers a great opportunity to meet and network with other providers.
