Description

6206 Oleander Dr, Wilmington

The Ability Garden has operated on the grounds of the New Hanover County Arboretum since 2000. Our mission is to provide gardening opportunities to special needs individuals in our community and serve as a model for other sites interested in integrating gardening and nature-based activities into their programming. We provide therapeutic horticulture at the Arboretum and through community outreach. With both an indoor, greenhouse classroom and an outdoor classroom, we can offer programming year-round. The beautiful grounds of the Arboretum provide a dynamic interactive educational space for engaging in gardening with a therapeutic goal, which is assessed on a group-by-group basis. If you are interested in more information on the Ability Garden, scheduling a group or volunteering with the program, please contact Heather Kelejian, Ability Garden Program Director, at 910-798-7682 or [email protected]  https://abilitygarden.org/
