NCCDD Opens COVID-19/Coronavirus Mini Grant
UPDATE (April 13, 2020): The application process for the Mini Grant is now closed due to the exhaustion of funds. We heard from many great and worthy organizations across North Carolina, and were proud to support 31 organizations with funding as they navigate the COVID-19 crisis. We understand the need is high, and NCCDD will provide any additional information for other resources as we learn more.

The NC Council on Developmental Disabilities (NCCDD) voted to invest $75,000 to a relief fund for one-time, time-limited projects to assist in filling gaps in services or activities that people with intellectual or other developmental disabilities (I/DD) are experiencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The NCCDD COVID-19 Relief Fund will fund applications of $500 up to $3,500 each.
Funds are open to NC non-profit agencies and other NC community-based organizations that provide supports to people with I/DD and their families who are affected by the statewide Coronavirus response. Funds must be used to meet the needs of people with I/DD and their families and promote engagement with peers, alleviate anxiety due to social distancing, and/or increase positive shared experiences.

When will decisions be made, and applicants notified?
Applicants will be notified via email within 24 hours of receipt of a completed application or the next business day. Decisions are made by the NCCDD and are final.
Who is eligible to apply?
Non-profits and other community-based organizations with a current EIN that are supporting people with disabilities as they shelter in place.
How do you submit the application?
Applications and proposed budget must be submitted online to [email protected] no later than May 15, 2020 for first round consideration. If there are any grant funds remaining after the first round of awards are made, proposals received after May 15th will be considered.
What is the time period for the purchases, activity or event proposed?
As this is an emergency relief fund, it is expected that items will be purchased with funds within 30 days of funding approval. This is a non-recurring award with no current opportunity for renewal from the NCCDD.
What agreements are required for funding and what are the reporting requirements?
Applicants will be required to submit an invoice for reimbursement, along with receipts and a completed North Carolina W-9 form if approved for funding. The award will require one final report of results of funding.
How are relief funds distributed?
Funds shall be paid within two weeks of a complete report and reimbursement request/invoice with receipts as required.
