The NC ADA Network supported six individuals and two Personal Care Attendants to attend this year’s National ADA Symposium from June 17-20 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The NC ADA Network group joined NCCDD Systems Change Manager Philip Woodward, former NC ADA Network Coordinator Karen Hamilton and other individuals from North Carolina who were counted among more than 900 individuals who had the ability to choose from sessions on a wide variety of ADA topics.

The individuals include:

  • Certified Safety Instructor Eric Dixon
  • LIFESPAN Job Development Specialist Lori Hopper
  • Division of Services for the Blind (DSB) Staff Development Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Specialist Stephanie Johnson
  • Self-advocate Mack Kelleher of the Triangle Disability Awareness Council (TDAC) and Vivian Drobnak assisting him
  • Self-advocate R.V. Kuser and his wife, Marlene Kuser, assisting him
  • Assistant Director of Advocacy and Chapter Development Services Gerri Smith of The Arc of North Carolina

Each individual brings a wealth of new knowledge back to our state.

Next year’s Symposium will occur in Dallas/Grapevine, Texas on June 16-19, 2019. For more information, go to: http://www.adasymposium.org/.
