Join the Ability Leadership Program 2025 Cohort!

ALP-NC Now Accepting Applications for its 2025 Leadership Cohort!

The Ability Leadership Program - North Carolina (ALP-NC) is an inclusive program that prepares people to engage in disability rights advocacy. And, it is currently accepting applications for the next Cohort!

Read below for more details on the program, the dates, and how to apply. Deadline to apply is July 3, 2025.


ALP Square Logo 3Who can be an ALP-NC Leader (participant)?

  • Adults with an intellectual and/or developmental disability (I/DD)
  • Family members or caregivers of persons with lived experience
  • In-field professionals supporting people with I/DD

How does the cohort work?

The cohort is a weekly program and runs for eight (8) weeks. Individuals in the cohort will learn how to:

  • Develop personal advocacy stories;
  • Practice self and collective advocacy skills; and
  • Network with others who can help solve problems and remove barriers to access.

Sessions are held on Zoom from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be breaks provided during each online session. The first session begins on August 22, 2025.

Application Instructions

  1. Applications must be submitted by 5 pm EST on July 3, 2025.
  2. The application is an online Google form. If you have any questions about the application or need accommodations to complete the form, please contact [email protected].
  3. Please remember to click "Submit" when you are finished. You will receive a message letting you know it has been sent.
