Lookbook Creative Director
Job Summary
Are you someone who has an “eye” for quality photography? Can you visualize how to best tell a story? If so, we are looking for you! O’Neill Communications, supported by a contract with the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities (NCCDD) plans to establish a short-term sub-contract (six months) for a Creative Director to lead the development of a Lookbook project.
This Lookbook will be a series of photographs from across the State that will be a visual representation of North Carolina’s individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities (I/DD) at work and at play. It is a high priority for the NCCDD that the contractor be a person with lived experience (an individual with I/DD).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruit a team of three photographers to take principal photography.
- Develop creative guidelines and direct creative work.
- Evaluate and discuss presentation technologies and options with the Project Manager, photographers and creative team.
- Hold a series of collaborative calls to discuss creative direction, review and select photography and layouts, and offer critiques and insights to the photographers and creative team.
- Review photography, select and provide feedback to photographers and creative team.
- Create photo descriptions that accurately and genuinely describe each Lookbook photo.
- Present work progression to the NCCDD for approval.
- Edit, finalize and authorize publishing.
Requirements and Qualifications
- An understanding of graphic design and quality photography and processes.
- Good leadership, coaching, mentoring and communication skills.
- Lived experience (an individual with I/DD) with an understanding of the importance of full inclusion in communities in all areas (work, play, school, socializing).
- Good communication, presentation and problem-solving skills.
- A great attitude and personality that will make the process an innovative and fun experience.
