North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities Hosts Listening Sessions For State's People with Disabilities
The Council seeks input from community at statewide public listening sessions for its new Five Year Plan.

RALEIGH, NC (June 18, 2015) – The North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities (NCCDD) has launched its Five Year Plan Process to gather input from the disability community in regards to its goals for next five years, or 2017-2021. The Council's goals and outreach with the State's Five Year Plan will be drafted from input received from leaders in the disability community, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), their families and supporters.

Currently, 11 listening sessions in eight counties are scheduled in the following cities:

Wake County/Raleigh:
June 23, 2015, 12:30 PM and 5:30 PM
Wake Co. Government Complex, 4011 Carya Drive, Raleigh NC 27610

Vance County/Henderson:
June 26, 2015, 12:30 PM

Pitt County/Greenville:

Craven County/New Bern:

Once confirmed, the Five Year Plan drives the Council's work in the community by funding innovative programs that promote inclusive and integrated communities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Council's State Plan is developed in accordance with the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 (DD Act).
