A day-and-a-half conference on how disability studies enriches all areas of academic study, featuring a keynote by Lennard Davis (a leading scholar in the field who promotes dialogue across the disciplines), an artistic performance by puppeteer Marina Tsaplina (founder of The Betes), a panel on disability and education led by students with disabilities, and a showcase of student artwork and disability research. There will be six breakout sessions led by Duke faculty on topics like Bioethics, Design, Neurodiversity and Mental Health, Law and Civil Rights, History and Representation, and Theater and the Arts. Registration for this will be free and there will be lots of good food and conversation.
